Daisha Tipton Sentenced to Seven Years, LIVINGSTON, December 29, 2012 - Daisha Tipton who pleaded who pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the death of Gervin Polite, was sententenced in Robert Trapp's District Court to seven years in prison for the 2011 shooting of Polite. Polk County Criminal District Attorney, William Lee Hon was seeking 20 years for Tipton, but, given Tipton's lack of prior felony criminal history, and that Polite and Tipton had a violent relationship, the seven year sentence was all that was handed down. Tipton shot polite on March 27, 2011. Tipton was inticted for murder in June of 2011.
