Daisha Tipton Indicted for Murder, LIVINGSTON, June 15, 2011 - A Polk County Grand Jury has formally indicted Daisha Tipton for murder. Tipton was taken into custody on March 27, 2011 after Sheriff's Deputies were called out to a disturbance off Darden Road. Deputies arrived to find Gervin Polite dead from apparent gunshot wounds on the front porch of Tipton's residence. Tipton was taken into custody for questioning but was not formally charged.

Livingston Man Dead of Apparent Gun Shot Wounds, LIVINGSTON, March 27, 2011 - On March 27, 2011 at approximately 1:00 am, the Polk County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call advising of a disturbance. The disturbance was located off Darden Road at the residence of Daisha Tipton, 32, of Livingston (about 5 miles east of Livingston off US-190 East). Deputies arrived on scene and found Gervin Polite, 31, also of Livingston, deceased on the front porch and the home owner Daisha Tipton was located inside the residence. Polite had sustained gunshot wounds and was possibly murdered. Daisha Tipton was transported to the Polk County Sheriff's Office by deputies for questioning. Justice of the Peace Larry Whitworth performed an inquest and ordered Gervin Polite's body be transported to the Harris County Medical Examiners office for an autopsy.
Officials with the Polk County Sheriff's Office advised that the investigation into the death of Gervin Polite continues. According to the Sheriff's Office, at time of press, Tipton has not yet been charged with anything but is being questioned.
