Livingston Police Apprehend Alleged Golf Cart Thief, LIVINGSTON, May 16, 2012 - At approximately 10:30 pm on May 15, 2012, a call was placed to Livingston Police Department to report 2 suspects who were breaking into the City Storage Barn stealing Golf Carts. Officers with the Livingston Police Department including Officers Jason Thomas, Adam Williford, and Sergeant Scott Paske were dispatched to search the area. They were joined by Deputy David Mitchell with the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Troopers Chad Seaman and Darwon Evans with the Texas Highway Patrol. As the search was underway, Officers Jason Thomas and Adam Williford found one of the freshly stolen golf carts in a remote area of Marsh Road. The golf cart had been abandoned. The two officers noted a trail in the gully below the road. Thomas and Williford began searching the dark wooded area. Officer Thomas followed the trail until it stopped, he commented that he knew if the trail stopped, a suspect must be nearby. Right as rain; Thomas spotted one of the suspects, Blake David Galloway, 22, of Livingston, hiding in the weeds laying down. Thomas apprehended Galloway and brought him back out to the road. Blake Galloway was placed under arrest and charged with theft of property and criminal trespassing. Additionally, there was already a warrant out for Galloway's arrest for a parole violation. Galloway was booked into Polk County Jail. At time of press, the other suspect has not yet been apprehended. There was another golf cart found abandoned nearby.
