House Catches Fire for Second Time, LIVINGSTON, April 15, 2019 - Shortly before 8 am on April 15, 2019, a house fire was reported to the Polk County Sheriffs Office. Volunteer Firemen from Livingston arrived at 1189 FM-1988 South to find the home enveloped in smoke. Livingston was soon backed up by Scenic Loop Volunteer Fire Department. A crew from Sam Houston Electric Cooperative was also dispatched to deal with an possible electrical issues. The fire appears to have started in the pantry where a drier was in use (nobody was home at the time). Deputy Josh Sanders with the Polk County Sheriff's Office initiated an investigation into the cause of the fire. The home is owned by John Flores, 39, of Livingston. Firemen saved the home, but the home did sustain fire, smoke, and water damage. Flores reportedly has homeowners insurance. There were no reported injuries in the incident.
