Fire Heavily Damages Home, LIVINGSTON, December 8, 2016 - At approximately 8:12 am on December 8, 2016, a house fire was reported to the Polk County Sheriff's Office. Firemen from the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to 1189 FM-1988 South to find the home's back side burning. Additionally, Americare Ambulance Service, Deputy Jacob Hopper, and a crew from Sam Houston Electric Cooperative were dispatched. Firemen were able to quickly douse the flames, but the home's backside was heavily damaged. The home has two fireplaces but neither were being used. The fire is believed to have been electrical in nature. Fortunately, nobody was injured in the incident. The home is owned by John Flores, 37, of Livingston, and his wife. Flores does have homeowner's insurance on the home.

Deputy Jacob Hopper with the Polk County Sheriff's Office began an investigation into the cause of the fire.
The back side of the home was heavily damaged.
