Officer Adam Williford administers a field sobriety test on 53 year old Cynthia Allred of Willis.
Intoxicated Driver Stopped by Police and Truckers, LIVINGSTON, March 10, 2011 - At approximately 7:20 pm on March 10, 2011, a report of a reckless driver was called in to the Livingston Police Department. The reckless driver was north-bound on US-59 in Livingston and according to a witness, nearly drifted under the trailer of a north-bound 18 wheeler. Officers Dallas Early and Adam Williford (both with Livingston Police Department) were dispatched and caught up with the driver. According to Officer Dallas Early, the vehicle (a 2000 Subaru Outback) refused to stop. The officers followed the vehicle attempting to get the vehicle to stop, but the driver, Cynthia L. Allred, 53, of Willis apparently refused. Early stated to PolkCountyToday.com that two 18 wheelers in front of the chase slowed down and boxed in Allred (one was in front and another on the side). Cynthia Allred finally stopped in the middle of the right lane. Officers Early and Williford had Allred step out of her vehicle. She was detained in the back of a patrol car as Officer Williford pulled the vehicle off the highway and onto the shoulder at Radio Station Road right next to radio station KETX. Officer Williford administered a field sobriety test and Cynthia Allred was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated and was also cited for evasion in a motor vehicle. An inventory of the vehicle turned up several bottles of prescription pills. A rollback wrecker from LakeView Wrecker Service recovered Allred's vehicle and it will be stored in Livingston. The scene was cleared by 8:10 pm.
Allred was allegedly driving extremely erratically in this 2000 Subaru Outback.
After nearly falling down twice during the field sobriety test, Officer Williford stopped the test and placed Cynthia Allred under arrest for her own safety.
Officer Dallas Early inventoried the vehicle and found several prescription bottles.
Cynthia Allred's vehicle was recovered by LakeView Towing.
