Fake Weed: Another Bust at Z-Mart, LIVINGSTON, October 31, 2010 - An anonymous tip led Livingston Police to a local convenience store that already has been in trouble for selling the banned substance called K-2 (aka Fake Weed). The tip informed police that there was suspicious activity going on at Z-Mart as there was a lot of a bustle involving a Z-Mart employee's car. Different people were observed coming and going to the car and always accompanied by Z-Mart employee Maaz Moonis, 24, of Cleveland. Sergeant Darrell Newman parked his car across the street from the store and observed the activity. Newman moved in and was assisted by Officer Jason Thomas. Maaz Moonis is suspected of selling substance from the trunk of his car rather than from the store. Z-Mart was busted on August 8th of this year for selling fake weed after it was banned in the City of Livingston. Officers found over 100 grams of fake weed in Moonis' trunk. The fake weed was confiscated by LPD, Moonis was cited, and faces up to a $2,000 fine.
A colorful array of packages adorn the hood of a LPD patrol unit. The amount was over 100 grams found in Moonis' trunk.
Mark Delafonte of Livingston was sitting in the car with Moonis and could also be cited.
