2 Vehicle Accident Hospitalizes 1, BLANCHARD, December 14, 2010 - At approximately 6:15 pm on December 14, 2010, Kristopher Maciag, 48, of Onalaska, was east-bound on US-190 West when he was suddenly broad sided by a white 2001 Dodge pickup driven by Larry Wardwell, 52, of Livingston. Wardwell allegedly tried to cross over from 190 west-bound side to FM-2457 but failed to yield to the east-bound Maciag. The collision sent Maciag's jeep into the grass on the right side of the east-bound lanes, while Wardwell's truck came to rest on the left hand side. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department, Deputy Dustin Lowry, and DPS Trooper Kevin Burman and David Morris. EMS Personnel treated Maciag at the scene and transported him to Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries. Traffic on the east-bound side of 190 was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup. Both parties had insurance. Larry Wardwell was issued a citation for failure to yield right-of-way at a yield sign. A rollback wrecker from Harwood Wrecker Service recovered Wardwell's vehicle and it will be stored at 101 Harwood Drive in Livingston while Maciag's vehicle was recovered by White & Sons Wrecker Service and will be stored in Onalaska.
Krisopher Maciag's 1987 Jeep was broad sided as he was east-bound on 190 and was struck by a truck attempting to cross over to FM-2457 from the west-bound side of 190.
