4 Vehicle Accident/Mess, 2 Hospitalized, SPRING CREEK, December 3, 2021 - At approximately 6:10 pm on December 3, 2021, a green 2017 Dodge Ram pickup, driven by Nanette Martinez, 60, of Brazoria County, was west-bound on US-190 West. Martinez failed to notice a blue 2018 Ford Edge directly in front of her and driven by Rhonda Holcomb, 68 of Onalaska. Martinez rear ended Holcomb and knocked Holcomb's vehicle into a silver 2008 Saturn. Meanwhile, Martinez ricocheted off of Holcomb and struck the back of a LISD school bus. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Onalaska Volunteer Fire Department, Deputy Darren Brooks and Corporal Roper Ellison with the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Trooper Donny Akers with the Texas Highway Patrol. Martinez and Holcomb were both transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries. The other two drivers were physically okay. Traffic on 190 was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup. Martinez was cited for failure to control speed. Martinez's vehicle was recovered by Kwik Tow and will be stored in Livingston, while Jackson's vehicle was recovered by Fawbush Wrecker and will be stored in Goodrich.
