A trash truck with Piney Woods Sanitation crashed into a real estate office located at 125 Indian Hill Boulevard on Wednesday evening.
Trash Truck Crashes Through Real Estate Office, BLANCHARD, November 2, 2022 - At approximately 7 pm on November 2, 2022, a trash truck with Piney Woods Sanitation driven by Richard Smith, 49, of Livingston, was south-bound on FM-2457. According to Smith, his brakes went completely out as he was approaching the end of 2457. Smith stated that he could either go into the lake or avoid the lake by crashing into the building. Smith steered into the building (reportedly a real estate office) literally knocking it off its foundation. The building is located at 125 Indian Hill Boulevard at FM-2457. Smith, nor his passenger sustained injuries. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Troopers Linley Clark, Donny Akers, and Nick Hatton with the Texas Highway Patrol. Fortunately there were no people in the building at the time of the crash and there were no injuries. There were skid marks from the truck leading to the crash. There could be citations pending as the accident remains under investigation by the Texas Highway Patrol.
49 year old Richard Smith, of Livingston, was driving a trash truck when he crashed into a real estate business on Indian Hill Boulevard at FM-2457.
The building was literally knocked off its foundation.
