A Pro Star Waste garbage truck lies tipped over on its side at US-59 and FM-942 West in Leggett.
Garbage Truck Turns Over in Leggett, LEGGETT, November 15, 2010 - At approximately 7:20 am on November 15, 2010, a large garbage truck driven by Ricky Darrell Withers, 44, of Livingston was north-bound on US-59.  Withers slowed down to attempt a left turn onto FM-942 West.  942 leads to the county land fill where he was to dump his truck load (a full load of garbage).  According to Withers, when he pressed his brakes they locked up sending his garbage truck sliding across the south-bound lanes.  The sliding behemoth slide all the way across to the shoulder, struck a curb and tipped over.  Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with DPS Troopers Rocky Thigpen and Joe Cole.  EMS personnel treated Ricky Withers at the scene for a minor arm wound.  Withers opted not to take a ride to the hospital.  No citations were issued and a heavy duty wrecker was dispatched to recover the wrecked truck.

Special thank you:  Brian Cox
