Vehicle Rolls During Alleged Altercation, SCENIC LOOP, September 3, 2013 - At around 7 pm on September 3, 2013, a black 1995 Ford Explorer was west-bound on FM-3126 a short distance from FM-2457. The driver, Bessie Schmidt, 47, of Livingston, was allegedly having a physical altercation with her passenger, Shannon Blue Macks, 33, also of Livingston. Schmidt lost control of the vehicle and left the road to the right. The vehicle slid in the grass and turned on it's passenger's side where it came to rest. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Scenic Loop Volunteer Fire Department, Captain John Sanders, Corporal Terri Mayer, Corporal Craig Taylor, Deputy Rey "El Rey" Davalos (all with the Polk County Sheriff's Office), and Trooper Chris Cain with the Texas Highway Patrol. Fortunately, nobody was injured. Trooper Cain placed both Schmidt and Macks under arrest for public intoxication. A rollback wrecker from LakeView Wrecker recovered the vehicle and it will be stored in Livingston.

Trooper Chris Cain places 47 year old Bessie Schmidt of Livingston, under arrest for public intoxication. Schmidt was allegdly having a physical altercation with her passenger when she crashed the vehicle.
33 year old Shannon Macks of Livingston, was also arrested for public intoxication.
Cold alcoholic beverage was found in the wreckage.
The vehicle was recovered by LakeView Wrecker Service.
