Driver Straightens Out Curve, Rolls Vehicle, LIVINGSTON, June 24, 2013 - At approximately 2:15 pm on June 24, 2013, a gold Toyota Avalon driven by Betty Mclemore, 83, of Jasper, was south bound on the US-59 feeder road when she entered the curve at the north end of the bypass that curves under the overpass near Livingston Jr. High. Mclemore entered the curve too fast and left the pavement before she could complete the turn. Her vehicle rolled through the grass and entered a side road and rolled. Her vehicle came to rest upside down. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department Heavy Rescue Unit, Sergeant Rob Thomas with the Sheriff's Office, and Officer Adam Williford and Sergeant Ronny Bogany (both with Livingston PD). Mclemore and her passenger, Mary Fikes, also 83, of Jasper were treated at the scene and transported by Ambulance to Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries. Traffic was not blocked during investigation and cleanup. According to Officer Williford, the accident remains under investigation and no citations have been issued. Mclemore's vehicle was recovered by LakeView Towing and will be stored in Livingston.

Passenger Mary Fikes (83 also of Jasper) was loaded into an ambulance with Mclemore and taken to Livingston Memorial Hospital.
