On a Personal Note...
I got to experience a first in my life over the weekend.  My daughter gave birth to my first grandchild.  Leading up to this moment, I had no idea what it would be like.  Oh sure, I heard the usual "...If you think your kids were great, just wait til you have a grand baby...", but I couldn't fathom loving anyone more than I love my kids.  I chose the wait and see approach.  Well, as things turned out, I didn't think my first grandchild was greater than my kids, but rather, an extension of one of my children.  In this case, my daughter had a child.  This baby boy is a continuation of my daughter that I dearly love.  To get more to the point, I love this beautiful grandson just AS MUCH as I love my kids.  The cool thing I've noticed both when my kids were born and when my grandson was born is that each time this miraculous event happens, I'm very humbled by the awesome greatness of God and his creation (yes, CREATION).  My grandson is not a result of billions of years of something great that accidentally exploded out of a vacuum of nothingness resulting in an endless solar system and a galaxy where everything is in perfect balance (and it's widely accepted that all this mass came out of literally nothing)...Really?  If you believe something that far fetched, you just might believe anything.  Welcome to Planet Earth Clay Randall Vess.  You're greatly blessed by God.  Not only do you live in one of the most blessed nations on the planet, but you're also abundantly immersed in love from your family.
