Sergeant Philip Shaver with the U.S. Air Force spoke to Livingston Junior High Students about the reason we honor our veterans.
1993 LHS Graduate Talks to Junior High Students About Honor, LIVINGSTON, November 11, 2015 - Air Force Technical Sergeant, Philip Shaver addressed a large gathering of students at the Livingston Junior High School on Veterans Day, 2015. Sergeant Shaver is a 1993 graduate of Livingston High School. In a time when students in America are glorified by a liberal media for organized rebellion, Shaver reminded the students what true integrity is about. Among other things, Sergeant Shaver explained to the youth why we honor our veterans on Veterans Day. He also spoke about the commitment that our military personnel make to offer their lives if necessary for our country so that the students can have freedom of speech, freedom of religion and freedom to go where you want to go without fear of oppression. Shaver reminded the students that all branches of military have a common thread that binds them; things like honor, duty, country, integrity, self sacrifice, loyalty and commitment. There were a number of veterans on hand for the occasion. Shaver was well received by his audience.
