Congressman Brady Speaks at Courthouse Honoring Fallen Soldiers of Iraq and Afghanistan, LIVINGSTON, May 31, 2010 - At 10:30 am on May 31, 2010, there was a ceremony at the Field of Honor at the North Entrance of the Polk County Courthouse. Many gathered as songs were sung, and speakers including Representative Kevin Brady and Judge John Thompson addressed the audience of over a hundred. There was a rifle drill performed by the Onalaska High School ROTC drill team, and a 21 gun salute performed by the Veterans of Foreign War. The ceremony concluded by 11:30 and refreshments were served in the gazebo on the south lawn of the Polk County Courthouse. The event was coordinated by Joan Jeffries.
Congressman Kevin Brady stated that Polk County is what's right about America.
The occasion was opened with prayer.
Navy Veteran Elena Hobbs sung a beautiful rendition of the Star Spangled Banner.
Polk County Judge, John Thompson spoke briefly.
