Go-Getters Beat Local Peace Officers in a Nail Biter, LIVINGSTON, February 11, 2010 - Marty Drake's Livingston Go-Getters Special Olympics basketball team knocked off the Polk County Peace Officers again in a nail biter that came down to the last minute, but the Go-Getters prevailed in a 59-57 triumph. The Go-Getters executed a balanced attack of precision shooting offense and a swarming defense that would never let the Peace Officers lead the entire game. Fans turned out and cheered on the Go-Getters who clearly had a home court advantage over the Peace Officers. Officers from the Livingston Police Department and Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff's Office cheered on their comrades but were decisively out numbered as Go-Getter fans applauded and cheered loudly with every Go-Getter basket. The Go-Getters will be playing again Saturday morning in a Special Olympics tournament that will be held at the Livingston High School gym at around 10 am.
