Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Charges on 2, LEGGETT, February 10, 2023 - On Wednesday night, February 8, 2023, Polk County Sheriff’s Deputies were patrolling U.S. Highway 59 North, near Leggett, and stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. After contact was made with the driver, an investigation began which led to the Deputy calling for assistance to search the vehicle and detain multiple passengers inside the vehicle.
Subsequent to the search and investigation, two subjects were arrested, numerous drugs seized and a large amount of cash was confiscated. The two subjects were identified as 36 year old Corey David Williams, of Houston, and 46 year old Renita Roshon James, of Houston. Both subjects were transported to the Polk County Jail.
Corey David Williams, was charged with Driving Without a License, Possession of a Controlled Substance PG1/1-B>=4G<200G, Failure To I.D. – Fugitive Intent to give False Info, and a Harris County warrant for Fail to I.D. – False Info. Corey is being held on a $17,100.00 bond.
Renita Roshon James, was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance PG1/1-B>=4G<200G, and held on a $15,000.00 bond.
