Routine Traffic Stop Leads to Marijuana Bust, LIVINGSTON, December 6, 2024 - On December 4, 2024, Polk County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Detective Adrian Ontiveros conducted traffic monitoring on Highway 59 North, near Goodrich, and initiated a traffic stop for a moving violation.
Detective Ontiveros identified the driver of the vehicle as Oscar Salinas and subsequently developed probable cause to initiate a search of the vehicle, which revealed four shrink-wrapped bags of marijuana concealed within a Nespresso box. The total weight of the seized marijuana was approximately three pounds. Additionally, Ontiveros discovered a significant amount of U.S. currency believed to be drug money.
Oscar Salinas was arrested at the scene and charged with Possession of Marijuana > 1/4 oz < 5 lbs. He is currently being held on a $10,000.00 Bond, pending further legal proceedings.
