Man Charged in Death of 4 Month Old Child, LIVINGSTON, November 21, 2009 - On November 13, 2009, Deputy Mike Nettles of the Polk County Sheriff Office was dispatched to Shady Ridge Trailer Park near Onalaska, Texas, involving an unconscious, unresponsive 4 month old infant. Deputies were advised the infant had received a severe head injury while in the custody of a Vincent Gabriel Sandoval (the boyfriend of the infant's mother). The infant was transported to the emergency room at Memorial Medical Center in Livingston, which transported the 4 month old infant to Texas Children's Hospital in Houston. The next day, the Polk County Sheriff's Office was contacted and informed by officials with Texas Children's Hospital that the 4 month old infant had died.

Four days later, on November 18, 2009, Captain Rickie Childers and Chief Deputy Byron Lyons traveled to Pasadena, and met members of the Pasadena Fugitive apprehension unit division, and Texas Ranger Doolittle. At 9:25 that morning, Vincent Gabriel Sandoval was arrested by the Pasadena Apprehension team at the La Villita Apartments, in the 4300 block of South Shaver.  Sandoval was brought back to the Polk County Sheriff's Office and booked in and charged with injury to a child.  Sandoval is being held on a $500,000.00 Dollar Bond.  The case is currently under investigation by the
Polk County Sheriff's Office.


Vincent Gabriel Sandoval has been charged with injury to a child in the death of a 4 month old baby.
