Gavin Wayne Allen, 23, of Woodville

Woodville Man Arrested for Online Solicitation of a Minor, LIVINGSTON, October 19, 2021 - Sheriff Lyons reports that on October 18, 2021, his office received a complaint from parents of a 13 year old female child concerning their daughter receiving sexually explicated social media messages from a 23 year old man identified as Gavin Wayne Allen of Woodville.

Detectives with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office became involved in the investigation reviewing social media messages and nude photos sent by Allen to the child. It wass discovered that Mr. Allen has known the child since serving as a bowling coach at a local bowling alley for local youth.

During detectives' interviews, gathering evidence, and monitoring cell phone messages, they observed that Allen was attempting to meet the 13 year old child later that evening to have sex. Detectives felt at this time, for the safety of the child, to further their attempts to locate Allen who was found at a location in Polk County. Gavin Allen was taken into custody for the offense of online solicitation of a minor under the age of 14, transported to the Polk County Jail and booked.

On the following day Allen was released on a $50,000 bond placed by Justice of the Peace Sarah Rasberry.

Sheriff Lyons asks that any parent(s) who’s child had contact with Gavin Wayne Allen to contact and speak with Lt. Craig Finegan with Polk County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division at 936-329-9028.
