Derrick Lemmond Cooper, 42, of Livingston
Parolee Arrested for Plethora of Narcotics, LIVINGSTON, October 10, 2019 - On October 3, 2019, Deputies with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office and a State Trooper responded to an old homestead off Old Highway 35 in reference to trespassing.

When they arrived, they observed a white Chrysler 300 car parked at the residence with a large bag of what appeared to be marijuana packaged for sale sitting in the rear passenger seat.

The vehicle was towed and stored as evidence, a search warrant was conducted on the vehicle and a large quantity of synthetic marijuana packaged for sale, a large quantity of crack cocaine, cocaine and ecstasy was located in the vehicle, along with a large sum of U.S. currency.

Evidence collected from the vehicle linked the owner of the vehicle Derrick Lemmond Cooper to the narcotics. Cooper is currently out on parole through March 9, 2025 for possession of a controlled substance and tampering with evidence.

Arrest warrants were issued and Cooper was taken into custody and transported to the Polk County Jail for three counts of first degree felony for possession of controlled substances with the intent to deliver.

Tracy Mcgowen out of Harris County will also have warrants issued for his arrest for the same charges for his involvement.

On October 7, 2019 another search warrant was executed on a room at the seven oaks motel where derrick cooper rented a room for several months.  During that search investigators located evidence that also linked Cooper to the alleged crime.
