Traffic Stop Leads to 2 Arrested on Drug Charges, BLANCHARD, October 1, 2024 - On September 26, 2024, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division, with assistance from the DPS Criminal Investigation Division, observed a traffic violation and conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling in the Blanchard area of Polk County.
During the stop, officers discovered probable cause to search the vehicle, leading to the seizure of methamphetamine. The vehicle's occupants, Marlena Anne Toomey, 37, and Diane Nicole Wiggins, 39, both residents of Livingston, were arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Further investigation revealed that the driver, Marlena Toomey, attempted to conceal her identity by providing a false name and date of birth and signed a government document with this false information, resulting in additional charges of Forgery and Failure to Identify/Give False Information. It was also determined that Toomey was wanted out of Liberty County.
The Polk County Sheriff's Office is committed to combating drug-related crimes and fraudulent activity in Polk County. Both individuals are currently in custody and awaiting further legal proceedings.
