Sheriff Summons Media, Holds Press Conference in Broad Appeal to Public, LIVINGSTON, September 22, 2015 - LIVINGSTON, September 22, 2015 - Polk County Sheriff, Ken Hammack, was joined by Chief Deputy, Byron Lyons, Texas Ranger, Ryan Clendenen, and Captain Ricky Childers as they summoned media to hold a press conference in a broad appeal to the public as they seek possible information from other possible victims of alleged predator, Mark Shawn Hamilton, 51, of Goodrich.

Sheriff's Office Seeking Information from Public on Alleged Predator, LIVINGSTON, September 21, 2015 - On September 8, 2015 the Polk County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint against Mark Hamilton 51 years old for Sexual Assault and Endangering a Child. According to Polk County Sheriff Kenneth Hammack, Hamilton, who currently resides in Polk County, is a Texas Peace Officer working for Sweeney ISD Police Department. Hamilton has been previously employed as a Peace Officer with the following agencies, Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Patton Village Police Department, Cleveland Police Department, Texas Southern University Police Department, Corrigan Police Department, Onalaska Police Department, and Trinity County Sheriff’s Office.
During the investigation additional complainants came forward with allegations of Sexual Abuse against Hamilton. Due to the potential for multiple victims and because of the suspect’s status as a Peace Officer, the Sheriff’s Office requested the assistance of the Texas Rangers to assist in the investigation.
At this time Hamilton has been arrested and is being held in the Polk County Jail charged with four counts of Sexual Assault and one count of Endangering a Child. Hamilton’s bond has been set at $1,000,000.00 by Justice of the Peace David Johnson.
