Driver Faces Felony Charges After Evading Police, CORRIGAN, August 31, 2010 - On the afternoon of August 30, 2010, Polk County Sheriff's Office Detective Christopher Lima attempted to stop a truck that had run several stop signs and was driving erratically in the subdivision of Reilly Village in Corrigan. According to Detective Lima, the driver of the vehicle, Anthony Wayne Jones, 22, of Corrigan, refused to stop when Lima attempted to pull Jones over. Lima's attempts to pull Jones over led out of Reilly Village and a chase ensued down FM-352. At times, Jones' speed would exceed 100 miles per hour.
Jones made it to a residence located off of FM-942 near the Camden Mill where State Game Warden David Johnson was able to detain Jones until Lima and other law enforcement officials from the Sheriff's Office arrived. Jones is facing felony charges of evading with a motor vehicle and possession of a controlled substance after methamphetamine was found. Jones is currently residing in Polk County Jail under a $5,000 bond issued by Justice of the Peace Precinct 1, Darrell Longino.
