Sheriff Hammack's Office Stops an Alleged Online Predator

Investigation Leads to Arrest of Alleged Online Predator, CORRIGAN, August 28, 2010 - At approximately 3:30 am on August 27, 2010, the Polk County Sheriff's Office arrested Allen Lane Marcotte, Jr. of Coldspring at his place of employment in Corrigan for online solicitation of a minor for the purpose of sexual conduct. The arrest was the result of an investigation by Deputy Vance Berry and Detective Richard Delaney after a complaint from a 16 year old girl. The girl said she was receiving obscene texts from Marcotte. The juvenile girl also stated that Mr. Marcotte had obtained her cell phone number from her Facebook page, and along with the obscene text messages, he attempted to get her to meet him somewhere for the purpose of sexual conduct. Allen Lane Marcotte, Jr. was incarcerated at the Polk County Jail pending bond set by Justice of the Peace Precinct 1, Darrell Longino. Marcotte was employed by Americare Ambulance Service and was also a Fire Chief in San Jacinto County.
