Polk County Sheriff's Office and Tomball Police Investigating Possible Murder / Suicide, WIGGINS VILLAGE, August 22, 2017 -Sheriff Kenneth Hammack, advised on August 18, 2017, at 10:27pm, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office received a phone call from a Sergeant with the Tomball Police Department. Tomball Police was requesting that the Polk County Sheriff’s Office go out to 143 Lewis Village Rd. located in Wiggins Village Subdivision #1 for a welfare concern. They stated that they were with a Billie Sparks who said her husband had been murdered and she had kidnapped by her Brother, 71 year old Edward Roane Jr. Tomball Police further stated they needed to confirm if a murder had taken place, because the actor was believed to be barricaded in a Hotel in Tomball. Deputies with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Lewis Village Rd. location and discovered the body of 76-year-old, Alton Sparks inside his travel trailer.
The Polk County Sheriff Office, Polk County District Attorney’s Office and Texas Ranger, Ryan Clendennen conducted the investigation into the death of Mr. Alton Sparks. An inquest was held by Justice of the Peace Darrell Longino who had Mr. Sparks Body transported to the Jefferson County Medical Examiners Officer for an autopsy. The final disposition into the death of Mr. Alton Sparks is pending the preliminary autopsy report.
The Polk County Sheriff's Office was advised by the Tomball Police that a SWAT team gained entry into the motel room of Edward Roane Jr., he was found to be deceased.
