Patrick Michael Kelso, 35, of Livingston

Convicted Felon Caught with Firearm, Meth, and More, LIVINGSTON, August 15, 2024 - On August 13, 2024, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division responded to a dispatched broadcast alert concerning a vehicle crash in a ravine off of Harden Road, near FM 3126.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a pick-up truck that had plunged approximately ten feet down an embankment. At the scene, detectives encountered Matthew Mars, who had been attempting to right the overturned truck for several hours. Further investigation revealed the driver to be Patrick Kelso, 35, of Livingston, who resided near the crash scene.

The vehicle was confirmed to be reported stolen by the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office. Detectives located Kelso at his residence and in addition, observed drug paraphernalia used to smoke methamphetamine, in plain view. A search warrant was then obtained by detectives for an enclosed trailer in which Kelso was using as a residence. The search yielded over 4 grams but less than 200 grams of methamphetamine, Adderall, and a firearm. Kelso, a convicted felon, is prohibited from possessing firearms.

Kelso was not arrested at the scene due to his injuries; however, warrants are being issued for the following charges:

-Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle
-Possession of a Controlled Substance PG1 (Methamphetamine)
-Possession of a Controlled Substance PG2 (Adderall)
-Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
