The following is a press release from the Polk County Sheriff's Office regarding the shooting that took place on Sunset Shadows Boulevard on July 6, 2014:

On the morning of July 6th, 2014, at approximately 0330 hours, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office received a call in reference to a shooting on Sunset Shadows Boulevard, in Livingston, Texas, Polk County.

Deputies arrived on scene to find a male victim with a single gunshot wound. An ambulance was called to the scene and it was determined the victim would be flown to Hermann Memorial Hospital in Harris County Texas.

Detectives with the Polk County Investigation Division arrived on location and interviewed the witnesses and processed the scene.

Later on this date, the Investigation Division received a call from Memorial Hermann hospital advising the victim had succumbed to his injuries.

This is on ongoing investigation by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. Once the investigation is complete, the case will be forwarded to the Polk County District Attorney’s Office for presentation to the Grand Jury.
