Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Young Child, LIVINGSTON, July 9, 2013 - On June 27, 2013 the Polk County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division conducted an investigation into a reported offense of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child. An Investigation was conducted by Detective Christi Allen. A Forensic Interview was done by Childrenz Haven of the possible child victim. The interview revealed that the child’s relative, Ricky Lee Barnhart, 34, of Livingston, had been sexually assaulting the female child for years.
After further investigation and with more evidence collected it was decided the proper charge would be Continuous Sexual Abuse Of A Young Child. On July 2, 2013 a warrant was issued for Ricky Lee Barnhart for Continuous Sexual Abuse Of A Young Child. Ricky Lee Barnhart was arrested on July 3, 2013, and brought to the Polk County Jail. Justice of the Peace Darrell Longino set a bond of $30,000.00 for the offense.
Continuous Sexual Abuse Of A Young Child is a felony of the first degree, punishable by imprisonment for life, or for any term of not more than 99 years or less than 25 years.
