Kenneth Lee Gibson, 50, of Livingston

Livingston Man Charged with Kidnapping, LEGGETT, May 13, 2021 - According to Sheriff Byron Lyons, on May 11, 2021, deputies with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office and Troopers with the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the parking lot of “On The Road” gas station in Leggett concerning a man tied up and appeared to have been assaulted.

When detectives arrived they found a male victim 49 years of age had been tied up with rope, physically assaulted, and forced into his own vehicle. Another person identified as involved was located at the store and identified as 50 year old Kenneth Lee Gibson, of Livingston.

Detectives learned Kenneth Gibson had been stalking the victim by watching his home and hiding in a wooded area near his residence. Detectives went to the home of the victim discovering personal belongings of Gibson in a wooded area.

Kenneth Gibson was interviewed at the Sheriff’s Office where he talked about the victim using the identity of another person and believes him to be involved in rapes and murders in Austin. Gibson was booked into the Polk County Jail on the charge of Aggravated Kidnapping and held under a $100,000 bond. According to detectives, additional criminal charges are pending once the investigation is complete.
