Man Takes Hatchet and Chops off Woman's Nose, Jailed on Assault Charges, LIVINGSTON, April 9, 2015 - On Thursday April 2, 2015 detectives from the Polk County Sheriff's Office responded to the report of an assault after a man, suspected to be under the influence of meth, took a hatchet and chopped of the nose of a female friend at a residence off Pridgen Rd. The victim was transported to the emergency room by her boyfriend where she was then transferred to a Houston hospital. Detectives discovered the suspect walking on FM 350 South where he was detained and determined to be under the influence of drugs after stating to detectives he had used meth. The suspect, 20 year old Cody Andre Bane, of Porter, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and incarcerated in the Polk County Jail on a bond of $50,000.
