Harris County Murder Suspect Apprehended in Polk County, SODA, April 6, 2010 - On the afternoon of Saturday, March 3, 2010, the Polk County Sheriff's Office received a call from the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force (VOTF). The VOTF had intelligence that a murder suspect that was wanted in Harris County had been residing at his mother's residence in East Polk County at a house off of Nursery Road. Sheriff Hammack, his Chief Deputy Byron Lyons, Texas Ranger Ron Duff, a surplus of Deputies, and Officers from the VOTF met in Livingston where they discussed murder suspect Anthony Manuel Hanby, 33, of Soda. Hanby was wanted out of Harris County as a murder suspect for a murder that took place in a Harris County bar. Once a plan of action was mapped out, Deputies and Officers surrounded Hanby's residence, two officers entered the residence and found Hanby standing in the kitchen. Hanby was taken without incident on Saturday, April 3, 2010 at 12:04 in the afternoon. Hanby was booked into Polk County Jail on April 3 and has since been extradited to Harris County.
