Goodrich Man Charged in Shooting Assault of Woman, GOODRICH, March 14, 2009 - On March 12, 2009 the Polk County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call in reference to a female that had been shot on the side of the road off of FM 2969 in Goodrich Texas. The female, identified as Jennifer Gaddis 35 years old, informed officers on scene that she was shot by Louis Bookman, 47 years old, and the suspect was driving a red Ford Dually with signs on the side of the truck that stated Bookman Roofing. Officers responded to the Bookman residence where Louis Bookman was taken into custody without incident. Search warrants were obtained for the Bookman residence and property on FM 2969 where the incident took place. Investigators executed the search warrants, and evidence collected will be sent to the Crime Lab for further analysis. The red Ford Dually was taken into custody by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office where it will be processed by the Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Lab. Louis Bookman was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and was placed in the Polk County Jail under a $50,000.00 bond. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Texas Ranger Ron Duff and the Polk County District Attorney’s Office. At time of press, the condition of the victim (Jennfer Gaddis) has not yet been released to PolkCountyToday.com.
