John Charles Brooks, 33, of Huntsville
Burglary Suspect Caught with the Goods, SEGNO, February 12, 2019 - On Sunday, February 10, 2019, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office received a call for a burglary that was in progress on FM 943. The victim was able to give a description of the suspect leaving his residence on foot.
 
Deputies responded to the scene but were unable to locate the suspect. A picture was taken of the suspect at the time of the burglary. A Crime Stoppers Report was posted with the suspects picture. He was later identified as John Charles Brooks.
 
Later that night the sheriff’s office received another call of a possible location on Brooks. Deputies responded and were able to find stolen property inside a barn that also came from the residence from a previous burglary. Brooks had already left on foot after learning someone had called the sheriff’s office
 
Warrants were issued for Brooks and he has since been arrested. He is currently residing in the Polk County Jail.
