Dangerous Kidnapper Apprehended by Deputy Brent Foster, LIVINGSTON, February 9, 2010 - At approximately 2:45 pm on February 7, 2010, the Polk County Sheriff's Office received an anonymous tip as to the whereabouts of Eric Demond Smith, 28, of Polk County. Smith was said to be in a brown van traveling on US-190 west towards Livingston. Deputy Brent Foster was in the area and observed a brown van fitting the description approaching the red light in front of Wal-Mart and Moore Auto Sales. Foster pulled the van over and located Smith sitting on the floor in the rear of the vehicle. Smith was taken into custody without incident and transported to and booked into the Polk County Jail and charged with aggravated kidnapping. Smith is being held on a $100,000 bond.
