Shady Characters, Dope, Weapons, False IDs and More, SCENIC LOOP, January 22, 2019 - At approximately 9:30 pm on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 the Polk County Sheriff’s office received a phone call in reference to a disturbance at a residence on Spring Creek Loop involving Timothy Ponkonin who had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
When deputies arrived at the residence, Ponkonin had already left. Deputies began to patrol areas where Ponkonin was known to be.
Deputies were later able to locate Ponkonin driving in the Scenic Loop area. A deputy attempted to apprehend Ponkonin. Ponkonin fled the scene. The deputy pursued Ponkonin on FM-3277 and onto fm FM-3126. Ponkonin wrecked into the entrance of Lake Livingston Village.
Deputies requested assistance from Polk County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics/K9 Unit in a search of the area.
Ponkonin was not located. Deputies returned to Stevens Lane where Ponkonin was known to reside.
Upon arrival in the area, multiple subjects were observed at 304 Stevens Lane. The subjects fled the residence in a vehicle at a high rate of speed.
Deputies were able to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle that left the residence near the intersection of fm 3126 on fm 3277.
The vehicle had a forged Texas paper plate. The occupants provided deputies with forged Texas Drivers Licenses.
Further investigation showed the driver to be identified as Joseph Paul Lawry and the passenger as Tracey Lynn Kueck. Lawry had an outstanding parole warrant out of New Mexico.
During the search of the vehicle a large amount of methamphetamine, marijuana, a stolen pistol, a prohibited weapon, a stolen computer, and a stolen stereo system were found.
Both subjects were also found to be in possession of multiple identification cards as well as social security cards and checks belonging to other people.
Both Lawry and Kueck were charged with manufacturing and/or delivering of a controlled substance, tampering with identification numbers (pistol serial # filed off), unlawful possession of a firearm by felon, tampering with governmental record (texas drivers license and texas license plate), failure to identify fugitive from justice, possession of prohibited weapons, and fraudulent use and/ or possession of identifying information numbers. Lawry was also arrested for his outstanding parole warrant.
Further investigation revealed probable cause for the application of a search warrant for the residence at 304 Stevens Lane.
After receiving the search warrant for the residence, deputies made contact with Jon Paul Glass and Larry Wynn Debose and they were found to be in possession of methamphetamine. Both were charged with possession of a controlled substance.
