Stephen Allen Kasprzak, 36, of Livingston

9 Felony Counts, PUTNAMS LANDING, September 2, 2025 - On September 1, 2025, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from a female reporting she had been assaulted. Deputies responded and made contact with the caller, who displayed visible injuries consistent with the reported assault.

Through the course of their investigation, deputies identified the suspect and proceeded to his residence located in the Putnam’s Landing subdivision. When deputies arrived, they attempted to make contact with the suspect, who exited his garage armed with an assault rifle and pointed the weapon at responding deputies.  Livingston Police Department was dispatched to assist.

A brief standoff ensued, after which deputies were able to take the suspect into custody without further incident.

The suspect is currently being held at the Polk County Jail with the following charges related to the assault and the incident with law enforcement:

  - Aggravated Assault Against a Public Servant – (8 felony counts)
  - Aggravated Assault Family Household w/Weapon (felony)

Sheriff Byron Lyons commended the professionalism and restraint of the responding deputies, stating: “Our deputies responded swiftly to protect the victim and showed great discipline in resolving a dangerous situation without injury to the public, the suspect, or our officers.” This case remains under investigation.
