The burglary suspect from yesterday's incident near US Highway 190 W and 350 N has been identified. The suspect is 27-year-old Daniel Vargas of Cleveland. Vargas is a Hispanic male with black curly hair and a beard.
Daniel Vargas has two active felony warrants for his arrest issued by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office in reference to the incident that occurred on August 21, 2025. Burglary of a Habitation (F2) and Theft of Firearm (SJF). Vargas is believed to be armed and injured. He was last seen in the area of US Highway 190 W near FM 350 S.
A photo has been attached below from security camera video of a possible clothing description for Vargas. A recent mugshot has also been attached. If you see the subject do not approach, he is armed and dangerous. Call 911 immediately. Vargas is believed to be out of the Polk County Area at this time. There is no current threat at this time.
