18 Year Old Girl Drowns in Lake Livingston, BLANCHARD, August 19, 2025 - On August 12, 2025, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a possible drowning at the Blanchard Boat Ramp.
The victim, who had been swimming with friends, went underwater and did not resurface. Her friends quickly located her, called 911, and administered CPR under dispatcher guidance until deputies arrived.
Deputies immediately continued resuscitation efforts, which were then taken over by EMS personnel upon their arrival. Despite these lifesaving measures, the victim, identified as 18-year-old Sharlett Boles, of Livingston, was transported to CHI St. Luke’s Health Memorial Hospital in Livingston, where she tragically passed away from drowning-related injuries.
The incident remains under investigation, pending completion of an autopsy by the Jefferson County Medical Examiner’s Office.
