Detective William Jerry (left) and Captain Ricky Childers pack rolls in every box that is to be distributed to 35 needy families throughout Polk County.
Sheriff's Office Detectives Team Up with HEB to Feed 35 Local Needy Families, LIVINGSTON,  December 19, 2016 - On Monday morning (December 19), members of the Polk County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division teamed up with Livingston HEB Pantry Foods to provide 35 complete Christmas Dinners for needy families from all ends of Polk County.  The detectives used much of their own money to contribute to this worthy endeavor.  "It's usually a tradition for us to exchange gifts during Christmas time, but this year we decided to forgo the gift exchange and instead put the money into purchasing food for 35 needy families" said Detective William Jerry.  "Some of our men sacrificed their annual county longevity check to help cover the cost of the food" said Chief Deputy, Byron Lyons.  Livingston HEB Pantry Foods is also contributing greatly to the effort.  Each dinner includes a complete turkey, rolls, fresh potatoes, desserts and other trimmings.
