SNOW MISADVENTURES IN LIVINGSTON...

LIVINGSTON, February 15, 2021 - Well, I was sitting at home marveling at all the snow. I decided that it would be a good idea to make some chili. I needed to go to the store to get the necessary ingredients. Things started out okay as I drove down Business 59 and made it to the court house square. When I made a left onto W. Church Street, I couldn't get the necessary traction to get over the railroad tracks by the court house, so I slowly backed out and tried to take the back roads by the Montessori school (trying to get to HEB). I forgot about the hill by the Montessori school but tried anyway. Nope. Once again, I had to back out of it. By now, I was starting to get nervous. Mixi, Molly, and Heidi were with me. I managed to make it home safely and was glad to be there. I like the snow, but man, driving without chains on your tires is a challenge (my truck DOES NOT have 4 wheel drive). If my truck did have 4 wheel drive I probably would've made it to the grocery store. I'm just glad I could get back home without getting stranded.  I guess I'll throw some steaks on the grill on the back patio. - Willie P. Openshaw
