On October 23, 2024, The Polk County Sheriff's Office responded to a shooting located at the Futurewise Gas Station, located at 5060 State HWY 146, Livingston.
Upon arrival a PCT. 4 Deputy Constable was able to identify the shooter and place him in custody. Deputies and Detectives arrived on scene and began to render aid to the victim. During the investigation it was discovered that there was an ongoing dispute between the suspect and the victim that led up to the shooting.
The suspect, 36 year old Philip McCulloch, of Livingston, TX, is in custody at this time for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon Causing Serious Bodily Injury. McCullough’s bond has been set at $30,000.00, by Justice of the Peace Precinct 3 Dully Johnson.
The victim has been identified as 35 year old John Anthony Arredondo, of Livingston, TX.
No further information is being provided at this time, as this investigation is still active.

Shooting at Store on 146, PROVIDENCE, October 23, 2024 - Sometime during the 12 noon hour on October 23, 2024, a shooting occurred at Future Wise gas / grocery located on US-146 at FM-1988. Polk County Sheriff, Byron Lyons, and deputies along with detectives, constables, and state troopers were on the scene. The shooting appears to have happened in the parking lot of Future Wise as there were shell casings on the ground with markers. An Air Life medical helicopter landed in the parking lot of Future Wise and flew the gunshot victim from the scene. It is not yet known to PolkCountyToday.com who the shooter is, the circumstances that led to the shooting, or if the shooter is in custody. We will update the story as soon as more information is made available.
