An ambulance on Oakdale Loop on June 23, 2014.
Recent Livingston High School Graduate Dead of Apparent Accidental Gunshot Wound, OAKDALE LOOP, June 24, 2013 - Sometime during the 8 pm hour on June 23, 2014, a report of an accidental shooting was reported to the Polk County Sheriff's Office.  Americare Ambulance Service and volunteer firemen from Livingston VFD were dispatched to Oakdale Loop (off US-59 north of Livingston) to find a Ford F-150 pickup on the side of the road a few miles down the unpaved roadway.  Inside the pickup was recent high school graduate, Hunter Kelly, 18, of Livingston.  According to witnesses, Kelly and other youngsters were driving the back roads.  At some point, a gun entered the picture and an accidental discharge struck Kelly.  When EMS personnel arrived, Kelly still had a pulse.  He was rushed to Livingston Memorial Hospital where he died a short time later.  The pickup was recovered by Ken's Towing and will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston.
