Shooting at Florida's Kitchen, LIVINGSTON, April 5, 2015 - Sometime around midnight on April 4, 2015, a shooting was reported to the Polk County Sheriff's Office. Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff's Office, and Troopers were dispatched to Florida's Kitchen (located off FM-350 South). Law enforcement quickly taped off a crime scene as other emergency responders continued to arrive (including an ambulance from Americare Ambulance Service). As it turns out, there were reportedly some employees of Florida's Kitchen doing preparation work when two black males wearing black clothing allegedly entered the building in the back of the establishment where the workers were doing their jobs. The assailants shot one of the workers in the arm and possibly in the leg. The two gunmen then fled the establishment and crossed FM-350 South into a patch of woods. The worker who was shot was treated at the scene and transported by ambulance to the helipad at CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital and loaded onto a PHi Air Medical helicopter and flown to Conroe Regional Hospital with serious injuries. In the meantime, investigators from the Polk County Sheriff's Office continued to investigate the scene of the shooting. Deputies, constables, and troopers began a search of the area for the two gunmen. The gunmen are reportedly armed with a shotgun and a pistol. At time of press, the suspects have not yet been caught. That's all the information we have at this time.
