The Monday following Thanksgiving, I contracted a virus which quickly turned into a life threatening pneumonia. Within 30 minutes after arriving to our local Memorial Medical Center emergency room; I had been received, put on oxygen and IV, stabilized and X-rayed. Even though the hospital did not have a room available for me until late in the evening, (I had arrived at about 9:30 am), the emergency room personnel kept me stabilized and comfortable until I was relocated into a hospital room.
With the large, quickly growing and deadly type of pneumonia that I had, it worsened before it began to decrease. During my lengthy twelve day hospital stay, I received the most professional and dedicated care from doctors, nursing, technical and administration staff that I could have received from any hospital anywhere. I am very proud and thankful for a hospital that is striving to succeed and the highly trained and skilled doctors that we now have in our area. Pleased don't forget to remember them for your own medical and hospital needs.
A very special thank you to Dr. Karla Bruning for sending me immediately to the hospital, Dr. Elias Kannan and Dr. Souad Youssef for their dedicated care while I was hospitalized, all my dear friends and the community that sent up prayers for me and to God that saw a need to give me more time on this cherished earth. I still have a time to go to get back to full strength and wellness, but due to "all" of the above, I am progressing daily.
