Corrigan Police Officer Under Investigation Dead of Apparent Suicide, CLEVELAND, August 12, 2019 - Cleveland resident, and former Corrigan Police Officer, Joe Robertson, Jr., who was arrested on Friday, and under investigation by Texas Rangers is dead of an apparent suicide. Robertson was hired in May, 2019 by Corrigan Police Department and jailed on Friday for theft and oppression. Robertson, after posting bail from Polk County Jail, was found today (Monday 08/12/19) deceased. Robertson had been employed by the San Jacinto County Sheriff's Office and was arrested and jailed in Cleveland for unpaid traffic tickets. The issue was eventually resolved. He also ran for Liberty County Clerk as a Democrat and lost in the general election to a Republican. Robertson is a graduate of Cleveland High School and had some college. It is not known to PolkCountyToday.com how Robertson allegedly committed suicide.
