Ricky Lynn Smith was found in possession of crack cocaine when he was being arrested for embezzlement.
Embezzler Caught With Crack Cocaine When Arrested, LIVINGSTON, August 26, 2008 - On August 25, 2008 the Polk County Sheriff's Office received a report in reference to forgery of checks. The complainant said that nine checks were stolen from his check book. An immediate investigation by Captain Ricky Childers of the Polk County Sheriff's Office revealed that all 9 checks were passed at First State Bank in Livingston. Through video surveillance the suspect was identified as Ricky Lynn Smith, 48, of Livingston who WAS employed by the complainant. A warrant was issued for Smith's arrest. On that same day (August 25), Captain Childers, Lieutenant Andy Lowrie, Detective Stan Galloway, Sergeant Howard Smith and Detective Brent Foster moved in to arrest Smith and found him with crack cocaine. Smith was booked into Polk County Jail and charged with forgery of a financial instrument and possession of crack cocaine. Smith has previous charges that include burglary of a habitation, unauthorized use of a vehicle, residential burglary, felony theft, and parole violations.
