These Indian Fancy Dancers put on a dazzling and colorful performance.
Reservation Celebrates With Style and Tradition in 4th of July Bash, ALABAMA COUSHATA RESERVATION, July 4, 2008 - On July 3rd 2008 the Alabama Coushata Reservation put on an open-to-the-public Independence Day celebration that was free of charge, as they welcomed all Polk Countians to their place for a HUGE bash.  The celebration began at about 3 pm and went on late into the night.  There were several live bands that performed through out the day.  The tribe performed a surplus of dances wearing traditional Indian clothing.  Literally thousands came out and battled the heat to enjoy a rich cultural experience with our Native American friends.  The celebration was complete with a spectacular fireworks show that lasted for at least 30 minutes.  There was food all over the place and a fabulous time was had by all.  PolkCountyToday.com wishes to thank our friends at the Alabama Coushata Tribe for such a show of friendship and hospitality.
