3 Vessels got stuck at Commodore Cape on May 4.
Three Stranded Vessels, Scenic Loop Volunteer Fire Department to the Rescue...
By Hannah Cram

SCENIC LOOP, May 7, 2018 - At approximately 5 p.m. on May 4, 2018, one boat with six teenagers celebrating a friend's birthday on Senior Skip Day ran out of gas as they were heading back home from Pine Island.  The youngsters got stuck at Commodore Cape.  Someone came to help with their own boat, but while trying to assist, their battery went dead.  A jet ski that was occupied by two people also came to assist and, as luck seemed to have it this day, they also experienced mechanical problems and were now stranded.  Finally, someone alerted Scenic Loop Volunteer Fire Department.  Scenic Loop Fire Chief, Donald Marlow showed up with a boat and a few men.  Chief Marlow used the fire department boat to rescue all three vessels and occupants.  Fortunately everybody involved and their vessels were brought safely back to shore.  All's well that ends well!
